REMOTE  - Renewable energy demonstration sites

The REMOTE project increases and supports local capacities in renewable energy solutions across the Northern Periphery area. Thereby, the “kW plus -Renewable Energy Demonstration Sites, Handbook” compiles experiences from partners across the Northern Periphery region.

REMOTE hereby also stimulates investments on new demonstration sites, encourages their inclusion to the network, and supports technology and knowledge transfer activities. This guide is practical to use for establishing, developing and improving renewable energy demonstration sites. This handbook does not give prescriptions on how to do things, but rather offers insights on what could be done, leaving everyone free to develop their own specific approach to work and business development.

The REMOTE mobile application on renewable energy demonstration sites, the "KW PLUS-App", can be found here.

REMOTE - Renewable energy study tours

The REMOTE study tour concept handbook is a guide for organizing renewable energy study tours. It describes and recommends points to consider in planning and includes practical hints that are especially useful for decision-makers, entrepreneurs and other professionals, where the most valuable outcome from the networking will be knowledge transfer and initiatives for further cooperation.

The guidelines can be applied to a wide variety of activities or business sectors in areas where it is seldom easy to generate large-scale economic activities. If your region or your stakeholders have unique things that are worth seeing or experiencing, why not use this handbook to tell the world and make some business!

REMOTE - Sustainable Energy Tourism App

The Sustainable Energy Tourism App is a mobile application for renewable energy study tours. It is displaying renewable energy demonstration sites in the West of Ireland (Map of Ireland) including tailored information about each site. The content is appropriate for both adults and children and is extended having advance features such as a Solar gain calculator that visualises the information and a battery meter that displays the devices current battery reserves.

The back end infrastructure allows renewable energy sites in Ireland (or elsewhere in the NPP area and beyond) to be added with ease by and administrator after the completion of the project as the app provides functionality to support advance app features listed above.
